Campaign Director

Chris Megargee is a Seattle-based philanthropy leader with over twenty years of experience raising major philanthropic funding for organizations serving marginalized communities throughout the Americas. His career has focused on organizations that support immigrants and refugees along the full arc of the migrant experience—especially in Latin America and among Latino immigrants in the United States.

Chris has successfully inspired and engaged individual, institutional, and corporate funders to invest in programs that create opportunity and defend human rights in countries of origin, along migration routes, and within local immigrant and refugee communities.

Alongside his professional work, Chris has devoted extensive volunteer service to immigrant communities throughout the Seattle region. He accompanies community members to high-stakes immigration appointments, including court hearings and ICE check-ins; interprets regularly at asylum clinics; organizes neighborhood solidarity groups to support immigrant day laborers seeking employment at informal hiring sites; and serves on local and regional rapid response teams to show up for immigrant community members in moments of crisis.

Together, these experiences have strengthened Chris’ ability to build compassion, foster understanding, and mobilize action on behalf of immigrants and refugees across diverse communities. As Campaign Director for FIRE, Chris integrates his lifelong commitment to immigrant communities and his deep fundraising experience to fuel increased philanthropic support for frontline organizations serving immigrants and refugees across Washington state.
